Fluid–rigid body interaction in a compressible electrically conducting fluid

چکیده

We consider a system of multiple insulating rigid bodies moving inside an electrically conducting compressible fluid. In this system, we take into account the interaction fluid with as well electromagnetic fields trespassing both and solids. The main result paper yields existence weak solutions to system. While mechanical part problem can be dealt via classical penalization method, requires approximation by means hybrid discrete–continuous in time system: discrete enables us handle solution-dependent test functions our variational formulation induction equation, whereas continuous makes sure that nonnegativity density subsequently meaningful energy inequality is preserved approximate

Effects of variations in magnetic Reynolds number on magnetic field distribution in electrically conducting fluid under magnetohydrodynamic natural convection

In this study the effect of magnetic Reynolds number variation on magnetic distribution of natural convection heat transfer in an enclosure is numerically investigated. The geometry is a two dimensional enclosure which the left wall is hot, the right wall is cold and the top and bottom walls are adiabatic. Fluid is molten sodium with Pr=0.01 and natural convection heat transfer for Rayleigh num...

On the Numerical Solution of a Viscous Incompressible Electrically Conducting Fluid Flow over a Stretching Sheet

A numerical solution is carried out in this paper in order to study the steady laminar flow of a Newtonian electrically conducting fluid over a stretching sheet. The approach to this numerical solution is based on the idea of stretching the variables of the flow problem. Thereafter, we use the least squares method to minimize the residual of the “defect function”. Subsequently, this approximate...

Electrically Charged Conducting Drops Revisited

Since its publication in 1882, Rayleigh's work on electrically charged conducting drops has been widely quoted, but its rigorous derivation has not been given in the literature. By means of the domain perturbation technique, this work presents a rigorous derivation of Rayleigh's results, following his approach with Lagrange's equation. With the systematic procedure, it becomes explicit that the...

Lift and Drainage of Electrically Conducting Power Law Fluid on a Vertical Cylinder

In this work, the theoretical study of steady flow for lift and drainage of Power law MHD fluid on a vertical cylinder is presented. The governing nonlinear differential equation has been derived from the momentum equation. The resulting equation is then solved using Perturbation method. Series solutions have been obtained for velocity, flow rate and average velocity in both cases. The graphica...
